Current Civil Rights Movements: The Work Ahead

From 12:00PM to 1:30PM

Most people are familiar with the activism in the 1960s that brought about the Civil Rights Act of 1964. However, contemporary campaigns for equality and justice are less well known to the general public. In this session, two UIUC-based groups will carry out a panel discussion of the 1964 Civil Rights Act’s impact on modern social movements: Champaign-Urbana Citizens for Peace and Justice and the Champaign-Urbana Immigration Forum. Join us for a lively and informative talk led by Prof. Evelyn Reynolds. For more information, visit parkland.edu
