Starting a Small Business Workshop
The Starting a Small Business workshop provides an overview of the steps needed to open a business. The course includes help with defining your business, conducting an analysis of the competition, marketing, understanding cash flow, as well as numerous tips to be successful in a small business startup. A workbook is provided. All workshops are held at the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce, 303 West Kirby Avenue, Champaign, IL 61820 (next to Jarling's Custard Cup). Cost per workshop is $25. Livers of the Rivers: Freshwater Mussels of IL
How is a mollusk like a liver? Itâ€™s no riddle â€“ freshwater mussels are living filters that help to clean our waters and play many vital roles in a healthy ecosystem. Their unique life histories are bizarre and incredible, but their populations are declining at alarming rates. Guest presenter Alison Stodola, Mussel Field Biologist for the Illinois Natural History Survey, will guide our exploration into the secret lives of these fascinating and understated animals. $2 per person.
